Security Deposits - Things to look out for

When it comes to security deposits, always understand how & when you are going to get your money refunded.

  1. Revenue audits
    Your security deposit may not be returned promptly when your lease ends, if your tenancy agreement states that yearly revenue audits are mandatory. To be sure, check your agreement and get it done ASAP.

  2. Renovation deposit
    Sometimes, a renovation deposit is required before any A&A work can commence. To get back it refunded post-renovation, you may have to provide official documents such as a Fire Safety Certificate and other Letters of Approval from relevant government agencies.
